ORCAM
OrCam’s mission is to harness the power of artificial vision by incorporating pioneering technology into a wearable platform which improves the lives of individuals who are blind, visually impaired, and have reading difficulties.
OrCam was jointly founded in 2010 by Prof. Amnon Shashua and Mr. Ziv Aviram, who are also the co-founders of Mobileye, the collision avoidance system leader, and autonomous driving innovator, which was acquired by Intel for $15 billion. The original OrCam MyEye device was launched in 2015.
OrCam MyEye 2.0, launched in 2017, is the latest and most advanced of OrCam’s assistive technology.
It is easy-to-use, intuitively responding to simple hand gestures. It can read from any surface, including newspapers, books, menus, signs, product labels and screens.
It recognizes up to 100 faces, in real-time. A database of millions of products is integrated into the device, enabling an independent shopping experience. It also allows you to store up to 150 of your favorite products.
In addition, OrCam MyEye 2.0 identifies color and money notes.
All of these features, without the need for an internet connection.
