For people who are blind or visually impaired, getting to and from the places they need and want to go can be challenging. Barriers include lack of accessible public transportation, sidewalks, accessible pedestrian signals, and other pedestrian infrastructure that is either uneven, or altogether lacking. Since the availability of accessible transportation and pedestrian infrastructure are local decisions, it is essential for blind and visually impaired advocates and community leaders to have a good understanding of how public transportation and pedestrian infrastructure projects and services are planned, operated, managed, and funded locally, and they need to have good tools and skills to advocate with local leaders who make the decisions.
(This webinar is ideal for agency leadership, agency public policy professionals, O&M administrators, other team members interested transportation issues, and more.)
