VisionServe Alliance Honors Jenice Heck with the 2024 Cathy Holden Excellence in Managerial Leadership Award

VisionServe Alliance is thrilled to honor Jenice Heck, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Lighthouse Louisiana, for her dedication and inspired creative leadership.

Jenice is the first blind executive of Lighthouse Louisiana. Prior to her role as COO, she served as the Vice President of Vision Rehabilitation Services for 10 years, fostering the success of staff and programs under her leadership. She was hired by the Lighthouse in 2003 to develop their vision services, which have grown in scope, numbers, and quality over the past 20 years. Jenice is a licensed Occupational Therapist with a master’s in mass communications. Jenice also serves as an Adjunct Professor for the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she has created a course for Occupational Therapists that is specific to blind rehab. The Cathy Holden Award honors a senior team member of a VSA member organization who has made an impact on, contribution to, or led staff in the pursuit of organizational excellence. We extend our deepest gratitude to Jenice for her high level of organizational innovation, commitment, and service in support of people with blindness and low vision.

“The diversity of professional experience, combined with the depth of knowledge gained through more than 20 years helping to advance Lighthouse Louisiana’s Vision Rehab Services makes Jenice truly deserving of this leadership award,” said Lee Nasehi, President and CEO of VisionServe Alliance.

The Cathy Holden Excellence in Managerial Leadership Award will be commemorated at the Tuesday, April 16th Awards Luncheon at VisionServe Alliance’s Focused on the Future Leadership Conference, in Kansas City, MO.  Learn more about VisionServe Alliance’s Annual Awards and annual conference
