FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Consummate Leader and Educator

VisionServe Alliance is honored to recognize Dr. Craig Meador, President and CEO of American Printing House, for his 40 years of dedication to the education and success of individuals who are living with blindness or low vision.

The Lifetime Achievement Award recipient is selected by VisionServe Alliance’s Board of Directors in recognition of exceptional lifetime contributions in service to individuals who are blind or visually impaired.

Whether in the classroom or the boardroom, Dr. Meador has always kept what’s best for students his top priority. He began his career as a teacher in Oregon and later became Outreach Director and Principal at the Washington State School for the Blind. He then brought the same passion, wisdom, and experience in education to his decade as President of the American Printing House for the Blind.

“Under Craig’s leadership, APH has grown into a valued collaborator, an innovator eager to accept big challenges, and a steadfast champion of the field of services for people who are blind or low vision,” said Lee Nasehi, President and CEO of VisionServe Alliance. “Craig is the compassionate, practical visionary who encouraged APH to invest in the development of the Monarch, a multiline braille and graphics tablet and learning platform, launched GoodMaps, using APH’s wayfinding technology to create accessible indoor navigation globally, and has transformed the American Printing House Museum into the Dot Experience, an exciting new installation opening later this year.”

We extend our deepest gratitude to Dr. Craig Meador for his exemplary leadership and life-changing efforts on behalf of our industry and the people we are proud to serve.

The Lifetime Achievement Award will be commemorated at the Awards Luncheon on Friday, May 29, 2026, at the Envision and VisionServe Alliance 2026 Conference in Columbus, OH.
