FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Industrial Visionary, Valued Mentor, Transformative Force

VisionServe Alliance is honored to recognize Reinhard Mabry, President and CEO of Alphapointe, for his unwavering commitment to advancing employment opportunities and life-changing services for people living with blindness and low vision.

The Excellence in Leadership Award recognizes exemplary leadership demonstrated by an Executive Director, President, or CEO of a member organization. Award recipients are listed on a print and braille plaque in the Hall of Fame – Leaders and Legends of the Blindness Field located at the American Printing House for the Blind in Louisville, Kentucky.

During his 20 years at Alphapointe, Reinhard Mabry has guided the organization through operational and economic challenges that included the 2008 recession and COVID-19, while more than tripling annual revenue, diversifying operations, and expanding client services. Under his leadership, Alphapointe acquired New York Industries for the Blind, saving jobs, growing the organization, and enhancing the lives of people living with vision loss.

“Reinhard Mabry’s incredible work at Alphapointe is a testament to his vision, strong leadership, practical wisdom, and collaborative spirit,” said Lee Nasehi, President and CEO of VisionServe Alliance. “Solid partnerships and shared commitment to mission are the lifeblood of our field; Reinhard’s contributions continue to strengthen the growing community that serves and supports people living with vision loss.”

We extend our deepest gratitude to Reinhard Mabry for his exemplary leadership and life-changing efforts on behalf of our field and the people we are proud to serve.

The Excellence in Leadership Awards will be commemorated during the Annual Awards Luncheon, hosted on May 29, 2026, at the Envision and VisionServe Alliance 2026 Conference in Columbus, OH.
