Survey to help low vision optometrists and others in the BVI community identify areas of improvement and strategies to enhance low vision care

Jason Eckert, Contracted Project Manager from Vision Serve Alliance, attended a meeting with several low vision optometrists at the Chicago Lighthouse to discuss the development of a questionnaire designed to solicit current practices in low vision care. The meeting was held on January 8th, 2024.

The development of the survey is a project supported by the Readers Digest Partners for Sight Foundation. Both Readers Digest Partners for Sight and the Chicago Lighthouse are members of Vision Serve Alliance.

The questionnaire aims to gather information about the current practices in low vision care and will be distributed to low vision optometrists across the country. The results of the survey will be used to identify areas of improvement and to develop new strategies to enhance low vision care.

“I was excited to contribute to the development of this survey. It will gather valuable insights from low vision optometrists across the country,” said Jason Eckert. “This survey will help low vision optometrists and others in the BVI community identify areas of improvement and develop new strategies to enhance low vision care.”
